The babies switched from two single adjoining rooms to a twin room today. The space is much less and there's only one day bed (for mommy/daddy), but we really like being able to keep an eye on both babies at the same time. We also like that they're closer to one another and definitely feel that they can sense one another's presence. It's amazing how close their heartrates are to one another; they range from 140's to 180's and are within 5 beats per minute of eachother most of the time.
Tycen's bilirubin was down far enough to be off phototherapy today! It was such a blessing because when we asked the doctor this morning if he'd be coming off the light today he said it was very unlikely, but after they got his labs back they were shocked to see he went from a 10.5 to a 4.6 overnight! So now he gets to be all swaddled up again :)
Tycen, our big boy off of phototherapy!
Tycen has been tolerating his feeds better and is slowly progressing in the amount he is getting. The doctor who saw him today said that his heart murmer sounds about the same as it did the last time he heard it (which was about 4 days ago).
**Please continue to pray for the closure of Tycen's PDA. And praise God that he is able to digest breastmilk more now!
Shaylie continues to do well. She is progressing her feeds regularly and is decreasing in her IV fluids, too. At the rate she's going, she should be off her PICC line within the next week! This is great news because that is one of the main causes of infection.
**Praise God that Shaylie has been progressing steadily. Please pray that both babies will continue to grow healthy and strong and that they won't face any further challenges here in the NICU.
The highlight of my day was of course holding my precious babies and also watching Scott change his first BIG poopy diaper :)
