The doctor said that both babies are doing very well. She also said that Tycen's heart murmer sounds better and she was very surprised because typically they don't get that much better so quickly. Thank you all for your dedicated prayers!
**Please continue to pray that Tycen's heart murmer will completely resolve and that he wouldn't start to show any of the common symptoms that it can cause (i.e. decreased circulation, increased respiratory demand, etc).

Tycen is officially back on breastmilk today!! He has been getting less residual indigestion and so they are starting him off on very small doses of breastmilk to see how he tolerates it. Again, thank you for your positive thoughts and prayers for our sweet boy.

The babies tried sucking on binkies today. The doctor suggested it and after double checking with lactation (I wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause nipple confusion or difficulties with breastfeeding) we learned that in preemies this will help to strengthen their sucking muscles and promote breastfeeding. I was glad to introduce it, especially to Tycen because he always looks like he wants to be sucking on something. They both did great and fall to sleep within a few seconds to a few minutes, but that's to be expected :)
Tycen, sucking away on his new binkyThis evening we learned that the nurse who changed the tubings (which is done every Monday and Thursday) to the IVs, feeding tube, etc. accidentally switched Tycen's lipid dosage and fluid dosage. This meant that for about 5 hours (before it was caught by the night nurse) Tycen was getting too much lipids and not enough fluids. They did labs that evening and thank the Lord his electrolyte levels were normal! Unfortunately, it did cause his bilirubin to go up and so he had to go back on phototherapy. Naturally, Scott and I felt very upset, disappointed, confused, helpless, etc. We know it was an honest mistake and that these things happen. We are fortunate it wasn't any worse than it turned out to be. We just feel badly for Tycen because he's fighting hard enough as it is and doesn't need anymore challenges put upon him.
**Please pray that all of our babies' healthcare providers will be extra cautious and not make any mistakes that will directly effect our babies health.
The highlight of my day (aside from my skin to skin time with Tycen and Shaylie) was watching Scott change Tycen's diaper. It was the first diaper Scott has ever changed!! Tycen went easy on daddy and didn't give him a poopie one :)
