Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Scott had to work on his birthday this year, so the kids and I surprised him with baseball tickets on the weekend so we could all celebrate his birthday together doing something he loves to do. Tyce and Shay also got their dad some new Oregon Ducks gear including a sweatshirt, long sleeve shirt and phone cover.

On his birthday, we made him a chocolate chip cookie cake while he was at work, which was fun to do and also very yummy! :)
Such good little helpers...

This is the first year that we haven't been able to go to a Mariner's game, which we were bummed about, but since we needed to stay close to home we went to the closest baseball game around, the Salem Volcanoes. I didn't realize when I bought the tickets that the team was only single A (I thought they were triple A), but it still ended up being a perfect evening of baseball for all of us :)

One of the great things about going to a single A game is that we had awesome seats. We sat right behind home plate and right next to one of the pitcher's for the visiting team (Eugene), who was tracking the pitching speed with a radar gun. Tyce and Shay thought he was pretty cool and enjoyed helping him read the numbers on his radar gun :) It was also neat for Scott, being a former pitcher himself, and ironic that the pitcher sitting next to us also went to ASU and played for the same coach that Scott played for (who happened to be the Eugene team's current coach).

The game we went to was 'kids run the bases' night! After the game, we got to bring the kids down on the field and let them run the bases, which they thought was very cool. Tyce and Shay have been loving doing this at baseball fields near our home so to be able to do it after watching a baseball game was very special for them.

Happy birthday, daddy! You are such an amazing husband, father and friend and we would be lost without you. We love you to the moon and back!! Xoxoxoxo
