On Saturday, March 3rd, Scott and I went for a jog in the morning. It was drizzling a little bit and we got to see a gorgeous double rainbow for a large portion of our run.
My camera couldn't get the full arch in one picture, but it was pretty neat to see a full double rainbow...in paradise!
After our jog, Grandma Jan and I took Shaylie to a local farmer's market for some fresh produce. Scott and Tyce had some special 'boy time' and walked around the shops of Lahaina while we were gone.

...and then she said, "hold on mom", reposes, and then says, "ok, take another one." :) So cute!
On our way to Kanapaali Beach...this was pretty much routine anytime we got in the car (and look at poor Shaylie's neck, we couldn't get the kids to keep their heads back in their carseats):
T is always on the move...it's hard to get a picture of him, especially at the beach!
After spending a little time on the beach, we came across this ship at one of the hotels and the kids just had to play. We ended up letting them play here for quite a while without getting kicked out, which seemed to be one of their high-lights of our trip :)
For dinner, we got take-out pizza and Grandma Jan made a nice fresh salad with some ingredients from the farmer's market. We ate out by the pool at our condo and then walked into town to get some gelato for dessert :)
On Sunday, March 4th, Grandma Jan and I went for a nice walk in the morning:

They were all smiles once we were on the 'submarine', though :)
They thought our divers were really cool...what a neat job!
The kids were super tired after a couple of hours on the boat, so we all came home and took a little afternoon siesta. This is how I found them napping...how cute is this?!
After naps, we all headed to Kanapaali for a Luau:

We weren't sure if some of the Luau dances would be scary for the kids...some of them can be pretty intense, but they seemed to enjoy it (and no nightmares that night :)

On Monday morning, March 5th, we headed out on a snorkeling adventure. It was supposed to be a 5 hour excursion including a light breakfast, snorkeling in 2-3 different places off the island of Lanai and a BBQ lunch. I was pretty excited about it because we were guaranteed to see some dolphins!
Unfortunately, it was pouring down rain and we weren't able to snorkel off Lanai because of the weather. The captain of the boat decided we needed to go for plan B, snorkeling off the coast of Maui (the weather was a little bit better in Maui than Lanai). After traveling toward Lanai and then back to Maui, several people requested to get off the boat. At this point, since it had already been 1 1/2 to 2 hours and we hadn't yet done any snorkeling, we also decided it'd be best to find another adventure for the day. We ended up with a nice little breakfast and morning boat ride to start off our day, though! :)
We decided the rainy weather made a perfect day for the Aquarium, which was about a 30 minute drive from Lahaina:
I couldn't believe these orange-looking fishes (which, btw, we learned in Maui is actually a word) were really fish:

After the Aquarium, we headed back to Lahaina and walked down to Bubba Gump's Shrimp House. We knew it'd be a fun place to eat and I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy the food was, too! :)
