Alyssa is SIX months old!! She's growing up so fast. Too fast. We've loved every single moment we've been blessed with her presence in our lives!
Just before she turned 6 months, Alyssa rolled all the way from her back to her tummy. She has been rolling from her back to side for a long time and probably could've gone all the way to her tummy a lot sooner, but didn't always like to be on her tummy. She likes it more now that she can push up and hold herself up on her hands.
Shortly after she turned 6 months, Lyssie was able to sit unsupported for short amounts of time. She quickly learned to sit independently for up to a few minutes and plays with objects that are placed in front of her, falling over when she looks up or gets distracted.
Poor little Lyssie Lou got (what we thought, via our pediatrician, was) 2 right eye viral infections and 1 left eye bacterial infection throughout late March and early April. Her eye turns red and gets really goopy, which is worse in the morning when she wakes up. We had to give her an antibiotic cream for her last infection (bacterial) and it seemed to help clear the goop. I'm not convinced that all these "infections" are really infections, though. After talking with some friends, it seems like maybe she had/has clogged tear duct(s)?? We're still not sure, but it's so sad to see our sweet girl with a red/goopy eye. I did a lot of massaging her tear ducts after her last infection (at 8 months), and so far, she hasn't had any more issues.

This is one of my favorite pictures from when I was a baby...Of all our kids, I think Alyssa looks the most like I did as a baby, do you see the resemblance? :)
We love you more than words, Alyssa Hope! Thank you for brightening each and every day these past 6 months!! Xoxoxoxo
