Last night was a rough night...
Tycen has been having a lot of difficulty on the high flow cannula maintaining his oxygen levels and keeping a regular heartrate/respiratory rate. As much as we love to see his smiling face, it was inevitable that he'd be going back on CPAP today. Now that he's been off of it for a couple of days, I think he's extra uncomfortable with it on. We hate to see him squirming and in obvious discomfort. Overall, he's such an agreeable guy and doesn't complain a whole lot. It's just so hard because his face gets really puffy on CPAP because his hat and chin strap have to be so tight. Oh, the day he doesn't need it anymore will be a very joyous day!
**Please continue to pray for Tycen's PDA and respiratory development. Pray that he will be able to come off CPAP without any difficulty very soon. While he is still on CPAP, we pray that he won't get any pressure sores or skin breakdown.
Shaylie has been spitting up a lot. She is having a difficult time digesting the fortified milk. It's so hard to see her, too, in discomfort with tummy pain. They were going to advance her feeds again today and take her PICC line out, but now they can't because they have to wait to make sure she can tolerate the fortified milk first.
**Please pray for Shaylie's digestive system with the fortified milk and pray that she wouldn't be in any pain/discomfort. We all know how much gas pains are a drag! Also pray for her apnic episodes, that they would decrease in frequency (or be eliminated!).
We went to "family night" tonight, just down the hall (there are meetings twice per month). Some parents with babies that are currently in the NICU attend along with some parents who've had babies here in the past. We made "lovie dolls" for Tycen and Shaylie; the purpose is to hold them close to us for a while, then put them in their beds so they can smell our scent when we're not physically next to them.

**We ask that the Lord would hold and comfort our babies. May He be their strength and help them to strive. May the Holy Spirit fill them and give them peace. Let them constantly feel security and love. Hug them at all times, especially now when we cannot. We trust in His mercy and grace. And we ask this today and everyday. Amen.
