Seattle

We went to Seattle for a quick trip over Memorial Day weekend. I worked on Saturday, so we left early Sunday morning. We were SO excited to go the the Mariner's (vs. Yankees) game with Aunt Mar and Garrett on Sunday afternoon!

We got to the stadium a little early, so we took our time, fed the kids some lunch and grooved to the live music being played on the street outside the stadium...good times :)

Love this picture:

We bought Tyce a visor to match his daddy:

Shaylie asked me to take this picture of her :)

We were all so excited to spend time with Aunt Mar and Garrett! They came up to Seattle from L.A. to visit for the weekend. I wish so badly we lived closer to them!!

This was one of probably less than five times the kids didn't take a nap all day; they did great and were just so excited to be on 'vacation' :)

After the game, we checked in to our hotel. The kids absolutely loved running around the halls and pretty much acted like they owned the place :)

After checking in to our hotel, we walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner. We stayed about 2-3 blocks from the Space Needle:

We ended up bringing two pack n' plays for the kids to sleep in. We weren't sure how bedtime would go since we were all going to be in the same room (in the past, the kids have always had a hard time falling asleep in the same room). They went to bed a little later than usual (and we went to bed a little earlier than usual :), but it worked out great.

Goodnight kisses:

We had a great view of Seattle from our hotel room:

Having fun:

There's nothing greater than hearing (and seeing) our kids laughter!!

The next morning, we woke up bright and early and had a quick breakfast at the hotel. We then enjoyed a family swim in the pool before getting ready for the day. We checked out the Folklife Festival that was going on near our hotel:

The kids loved all the live music! We saw a lot of kids doing solos and duets with various instruments, which was fun for Tyce and Shaylie to watch.

We left Seattle around the kids nap time on Monday. They feel asleep the minute we hit the freeway and slept all the way to Gramps' house, which worked out perfectly. We got to spend the rest of Memorial Day with Gramps, Oma and Kai, which was a great time, as always :)

Tyce's first tractor ride with Gramps! He's always LOVED 'driving' the tractor himself, but has been very reluctant to turning it on or going for a ride. Both kids are very sensitive to noise and don't particularly like the sound of the tractor when it's on. I think Dozer Days must've given Tyce a little more courage, though :)

Shaylie's second tractor ride with Gramps:

We left Gramps' house just before bedtime. Our trip was short, but it was so fun to have quality time together as a family!!
