...GRAMPS! We went up to Olympia in the beginning of December to celebrate Gramps' birthday with him. When we arrived in town, we drove straight to Kai's school so we could see his new big-boy Kindergarten class at Lincoln School.
This picture is blurry because these boys never stop moving. I wanted to include this one, though, because Kai's teacher is in the white shirt.
Here's Kai with both Shaylie and Tycen after class. He was so sweet and wanted to introduce his niece and nephew to all of his friends :)
After school, we all went to lunch in downtown Olympia then headed back to Gramps, Oma and Kai's house for the afternoon. I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of the rest of the day and not even one of birthday boy. But, we had a great time with the Burke family, as always.
We love you, Gramps! We love that we are just a drive away from spending time with you and that we can be together for holidays and birthdays. We wish you a great year this year filled with contentment in your new job and joy in every other aspect of your life. We love you SO much!!
...AUNT MAR! Marisa celebrated her birthday on December 1st. We weren't able to celebrate with her but we did sing to her and think of her often on her special day. We love you, Aunt Mar! We wish we lived closer and look forward to when we can come visit you in sunny California sometime! :)
...SYNDEY! Our little Syd turned 4 on December 3rd. Her birthday landed on a Saturday this year (which means I had to work) but I was able to get a few photos of Tyce and Shay helping Sydney open her gifts before leaving in the morning.
Sydney got a new toy and Christmas shirt:
These kiddos LOVE their doggy!!
Sydney sporting her new Christmas shirt:
We love our little Sydney bean so much. She's such a good dog and she's so great with Tyce and Shay. They love to put her leash on at home and 'walk' her around the house, which she is always very cooperative with :) They also like to play pretend that she is their: baby, friend, or a different dog and talk to her as if she can understand everything they say to her. In the past month or so, I've often been finding Sydney in one of the kids beds during their naps and also at bedtime before we put her in her kennel for the night. She is such a little lover and is most happy when someone is petting or cuddling with her. She is truly one of Tycen and Shaylie's very best friends and we feel so blessed to have her a part of our family! We love you, Syd!
