Santa Claus

Tyce and Shay have seen Santa Claus a couple of times at the mall this year before we went to get their pictures taken including one time when Santa even came up to talk to them and gave them a high-five (well, he attempted to give them a high-five, only Tyce returned the gesture). So, they know who he is and they know the drill with sitting on his lap. I have talked with them about Santa a number of times and whenever I ask if they want to go sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they want for Christmas they always quickly reply, 'Nooooo.'

When we went to get their picture taken, there was a bit of a line so they were able to watch him with other kids and we were able to feel them out and see if they'd be up for sitting with him alone or if we'd need to sit with them. Well, as you can see by our 'family' picture with Santa, Tyce and Shay wanted nothing to do with him if their daddy and mommy weren't right by their side. After our picture was taken and the kids realized we weren't going to make them sit on his lap alone, they warmed up to him a bit. They even told him what they'd like for Christmas, Tyce said he'd like a guitar and Shaylie said a 'pink car.'
