Family Visitors

Grandma Dawn and Auntie Marisa came to visit for Memorial Day weekend! We had a pretty low-key weekend, which was nice and refreshing after returning home from our trip last weekend. They arrived late Friday night, after Tyce and Shay were in bed, so Saturday morning our kids were surprised by two very special visitors :)

They brought this rocking horse that Cousin Aralia let our kids borrow (it was a hit!):

Tyce reluctantly let Shaylie have a turn:

On Saturday morning, we took Tyce to get his haircut. He did great, she even used the clippers for the first time.

On Saturday afternoon, Gramps Burke came down to visit (Oma Stef and Uncle Kai are in Germany visiting Stef's family). I didn't get any pictures with Gramps, though (not too surprising...he's really not a fan of getting his picture taken). We spent most of the afternoon at the park near our house.

On Saturday night, we had a girls' night! My mom, sister, Emily and I went to see a movie and had dinner at the Cinetopia living room theater. It was a lot of fun! :)

On Sunday morning, we all went to church and then headed to the outdoor market in downtown Vancouver where we had some lunch. After the kids nap, we spent a lot of time outside again.

On Monday, we all went grocery shopping and had lunch at Whole Foods. After the kids nap, we played outside some more and then Nick, Rachael and Gracie came over for dinner. Grandpa and Grandma Haij stopped by for a little while before bedtime, too! It was a great slow-paced weekend full of love and family bonding experiences :)
