This picture is too cute...now that they're down to one nap a day, sometimes it's just too hard for them to make it through lunch. Tyce fell asleep while eating but kept waking up slightly, grabbing another bite and then dozing off again; this happened several times (while I took pics and a video) before I finally took him up to bed :)
Date night!! Scott and I got to go out this month to a sushi dinner in downtown Portland :)

Shaylie likes to put her food/bottles on Tyce's tray but often gets frustrated if he doesn't give them back.

Tycen fell while running and Scott tried to catch him with his leg, but instead Tyce's eye hit Scott's shoe and he got this big scab and bruise that lasted for nearly a week:

We've been taking advantage of the beautiful weather lately and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Here we are at Felida Park, where Tyce and Shay's 1st birthday party was:

We've started getting out more this past month since flu season seems to be over. I've been taking them to storytime at the library once to twice a week, which they seem to really enjoy. They love their new kitchen and are starting to spend more time focused on one toy or activity vs. moving so quickly from one thing to the next. Don't get me wrong...they are still very very active, though.
They are listening better to us these days and are getting to the age where we can let them walk places while holding our hands instead of trying to carry them both at once or take one at a time (i.e. when loading them up in the car). For those of you who have multiples' you know what a big deal this is! We're not completely there yet, but we're getting closer.
They can also walk up stairs pretty well with hand support and are getting much better downstairs, too, but often still prefer to crawl (slide) down backwards as this is much faster. They can feed themselves with utensils pretty well and only need help when we want to speed things up a bit :)
Tyce and Shay LOVE music and dancing. It doesn't matter where we are, home, store, car, outside, when they hear music they start dancing to the beat. It is too cute for words. They also do the music sign to me often when we're at home and they want to hear some music. They've just started singing, too, which is so cute and I usually know which song it is they want me to sing along with them or play on CD.
Tycen is starting to talk a little bit more and Shaylie continues to repeat just about everything. They still sign a lot to communicate with us, which is so rewarding for them.
Sleeping is so unpredictable these days. They will go several days sleeping through the night and then any number of days waking up for minutes to hours at night. We try to figure out what is causing them to wake up, but really it's hard to say for certain. It may be nightmares/night terrors, teething (Tyce is getting all his molars in right now), separation anxiety, illness, their sibling, ?? Who knows. We just hope and pray that once all their teeth come in we'll get consistent sleep through the night! :)
They are still nursing two times per day, once in the morning and once before bed. I think at this point I will let them determine when they are done with breastfeeding (but no longer than age 2). My guess is that Tycen will nurse longer than Shaylie.
Thank you for your continued prayers for our children. They have managed to stay relatively healthy with a few colds here and there this springtime. We love them more than anything and are so so blessed to be a part of their lives. They teach us so much just by watching them grow with such joy and passion for life.
