Happy Valentine's Day

We had such a special Valentine's Day this year! Grandma Haij came over in the morning to watch Shaylie and Tycen while Scott and I went to church, which was a nice treat for all of us :) We spent the rest of the day together as a family. The sun came out in the afternoon and we were able to take the kids out to the park and let them run around, which of course they always LOVE to do.

Here are some pictures of Tyce and Shay with their new Valentine's gifts they got from Mommy and Daddy:

This monkey was a hit...when you push his foot, his arms move up and down and he says a few different phrases. As you can see, they both love the love monkey :)

They also got this lion that vibrates and laughes when you push his leg. Shaylie wasn't so impressed....

Tycen thought he was pretty funny, though:

We were hoping to take them to the Rose Garden in Portland after their afternoon nap, but the rain came so we went for plan B: a trip to the toy store. Tyce and Shay Shay had a great time running around and grabbing things off the shelf and throwing them on the floor as fast as they possibly could. Scott and I did our best to keep up and replace things as fast as they came down :) We also got to read a bunch of books and play with new toys at the store before coming back home.

After we put the kids to bed, Scott and I got all dressed up and went to The Chart House in Portland where we had a very special dinner. Grandma Haij came over again to stay with the kids while we went out on our date. Are we spoiled, or what?!
It was a very special Valentine's Day, filled with love and great memories. I thank God for blessing me with such an amazing Valentine. I love you, honey! And thanks, again, to Kathy for coming over twice to help make our day so special. We are blessed.
