Weekend of Celebration

Scott and I went out on a nice date on Friday, November 6th, to celebrate our one year anniversary of Tycen and Shaylie coming home from the NICU (November 7, 2008, 53 days after they were born)!! We went out on our first date since our twins were born exactly one year ago, the night before they came home. We had so much fun spending quality time together and reminiscing about where we were, what we were feeling, and how far our kids have come over this past year.

On Saturday, November 7, we celebrated with Tycen and Shaylie. Gramps even came down from Olympia and spent the day with us to help us celebrate!! Tyce and Shay had a lot of fun bonding with their crazy, silly ol' Gramps :)

"Gramps is silly, Mommy, he's reading me a story about fairies":

After Gramps went home, Scott and I took Tycen and Shaylie to Janzen Beach to go on the fastest carousel in the PNW and possibly the nation.
"We're not so sure about this":

Look at all the lights, horses, people...this might be fun afterall:

We couldn't believe how many people were there to go on the carousel at 6 pm on a Saturday night. You'd have thought by all the cheers and commotion that we were in Disneyland. It was pretty entertaining. We all had such a great day celebrating this very special anniversary. Praise the Lord! He has blessed us beyond words and without Him, we wouldn't be where we are today...celebrating.
To finish off our weekend of celebration, we got to go to Cousin Gracie's 4th birthday party!! Her birthday is November 7, but she had her family party on Sunday, November 8. She chose to have a Strawberry Shortcake theme, it was very cute. She is growing up so fast. We are so thankful that our kids have such a sweet and loving cousin and that she lives so close to us. We love you, Gracie!
